#mellownaturals is a cruelty-free, clean, Thai-inspired skincare brand. these beauties* are each designed to target different skin issues & I’ve had the chance to try them all: ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🌱 hydration drops (w/ argan, rosehip, & strawberry face oil) - I love rosehip oil so was immediately drawn to this. I tend to go for argan on other parts of my body but found this super hydrating & non-greasy, as long as you're only going in w/ a few drops. my fav way to apply is mixed in w/ a gel or cream that maybe isn't quite as nourishing as I want it to be - these drops totally transform the product to give me the hydrating boost I want. it's packed w/ vit a, e, c, & tons of antioxidants!
🌱 clarifying face serum (w/ sophora root) - sophora root is in fact a chinese herb & not what we all read it as. this serum is an acne-sufferer's dream. in addition to sophora root, it contains salicylic acid, tangerine peel extract, & picea excelsa extract, all of which have anti-inflammatory & anti-microbial properties to control acne & sebum,. I'm not sure if my scars have improved, but I'm experiencing (marginally) fewer breakouts & calmed redness.
🌱 vit c natural glow face serum - this serum contains vit c in the form of magnesium ascorbyl phosphate, which is more stable but less potent than L-ascorbic acid (which is in the "big guns" like DE c-firma). this makes it suitable for sensitive skin. it has a thin consistency that makes it fast-absorbing & easy to layer - much more than other vit c serums. it also gives me a nice glow & plumping effect.
🌱 botanical concentrated face serum - this oil-based serum is packed w/ root oils & plant extracts to target pores & dullness. unfortunately it solidifies (likely due to the coconut oil) which requires me to liquefy it daily by sitting in a small bowl of hot water. when usable, it's delightful & nourishing, but I just don't have the patience. I want to note that the brand's rep answered all my questions about the serum quickly & professionally. I'm not a fan of coconut oil in skincare so this likely would've been a neck oil for me anyway.⠀
